The Rosetta Stone Language Library reinforces the student's natural language learning ability by directly associating new or difficult words with familiar objects and ideas.

Thousands of carefully selected pictures convey the meaning; native speakers say the words with or without text. The student responds and the computer give instantaneous feedback, confirming the comprehension that has taken place.

Teachers can select exercises to reinforce any of the four language skills: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Speaking and Writing. Students can study the material at their own pace, using exercises suited to their own learning styles and objectives.

A Choice of Exercises

• Each exercise presents a different combination of voice, text and pictures
• Multiple approaches to the lessons allow the students to select exercises to fit their own learning style and to achieve mastery of the material

Reading Aloud

• In any exercise, the student can choose Preview to reinforce the connection between text,
  speech and image
• The program "reads" the text and then records the student reading the same text aloud

Dictation

• Prompts the student to type words, phrases and sentences
• The program checks the students' work

Scoring and Testing

• Scores can be displayed or disabled, as the user chooses
• Tests can be used with any of the exercises, and the scores recorded to disk
